Chicago Workers Collaborative & Grassroots Law and Organizing for Workers are excited to announce that we will be holding Deferred Action Clinics this summer to support workers seeking labor-based Deferred Action.
In January of 2023, the Department of Homeland Security announced a new Deferred Action process for non-citizen workers who experience or witness a labor violation. Because of this, many workers are now potentially eligible to apply and need support to complete their applications.
We are seeking volunteers to support in these clinics, with roles including clinic participation & application preparation, pre-clinic prep & screening and post-clinic follow-up. We ask that all interested volunteers commit a minimum of 25 hours of volunteer time this summer. All volunteers will need to complete a short training on the Deferred Action process and clinic particulars, which will be provided.
If you’re interested in volunteering, fill out this form.
