FIFA on Notice: TWAC Demands More for Temp Workers at the World Cup

The Temp Worker Advocacy Coalition (TWAC), anchored by GLOW, put FIFA on notice for this summer’s World Cup games, demanding that FIFA does not contract with temporary staffing agencies with documented wage theft, discrimination, retaliation or misclassification violations; provide equal pay for equal work; provide access to water, rest areas, protective equipment and bathrooms without retaliation; and have safeguards in place to protect world cup workers from ICE present at the games.

Beyond the Bars, a member of TWAC, hand-delivered the letter to FIFA’s headquarters in Miami this May Day, making it clear that we have workers backs at the games this summer.
